A typically unremarkable Michael York is shipwrecked onto a tropical island populated by Burt Lancaster and a rather motley collection of people and mutated people/animals. These are the results of the doctor's experiments over the years, as he has tried to create a perfect creature. Time hasn't been kind to this; the effects are straight out of "Planet of the Apes" but Lancaster is quite sinister as the obsessed "Dr. Moreau". Keep an eye out for Lancaster's long-term acrobatic buddy Nick Cravat who turns up as "M'Ling". I recall seeing this at the cinema when I was 10 (or so) and the final scene has stuck in my mind ever since.
